Your guide
Marie, Professional freediver
I grew up in France to the rhythm of the sea, inspired by my parents, both marine biologists. From an early age, the ocean became my refuge… and later, something I naturally wanted to share. Trained in the Canary Islands, Greece, and French Polynesia, I chose Moorea as my home base to teach freediving. What I love most is seeing each person grow in confidence, become more autonomous, and open up to the beauty of the underwater world. Today, sharing the wonders of the Pacific and its lagoons is a true privilege. - (Certifications: AIDA Instructor; BPJEPS Freediving)

“My partner and I did our first freediving session with Marie, and it was so amazing we came back the next day. In the water, she made us feel comfortable right away - even though we’d never tried it before. She was supportive and encouraging. An incredible experience we recommend without hesitation!”

FAQ
Everything you need to know before you go.
Ideally, you’ve already had a first experience (at minimum a try-dive / intro session, or an AIDA 1 / SSI 1 level - or equivalent). If you have AIDA 2 / SSI 2, that’s perfect. If you’re not certified but you’re very comfortable in the water (e.g., regular snorkeler, spearfisher) and can descend comfortably to 5-10 m, it’s often compatible, let’s talk. However, if you can’t swim, have a strong fear of water, or have zero experience, this expedition may not be the right fit.
Yes, there is Starlink on board, usually available inside the lagoons, generally from 7am to 7pm. During inter-lagoon passages / open-ocean crossings, the Wi-Fi is switched off (plan change), and connection is kept to the minimum needed for safety communications.
The price includes: accommodation on board, all meals, non-alcoholic drinks, snorkeling gear, guided freediving sessions, and airport transfers.
On board, you’ll have access to mask / fins / snorkel (more snorkeling-oriented), but for comfort we strongly recommend bringing your own freediving gear (mask, fins, snorkel, wetsuit). If you have a weight belt, bring it too (weights can usually be provided on board if needed). For the wetsuit: aim for at least 3mm, long sleeves + long legs (we spend a lot of time in the water). If you don’t have one, we can look for a solution depending on availability.
We recommend having two layers of coverage: 1) Travel insurance (cancellation + repatriation/medical evacuation). Medical evacuation in remote areas can be very expensive - evacuation coverage matters. Important: some “adventure” policies cover scuba/snorkeling but exclude freediving, always check the exclusions carefully. 2) Diving / freediving accident insurance (e.g., DAN) We recommend DAN Europe, a specialized insurer that covers most diving and freediving activities.
Yes. A medical certificate stating no contraindication to freediving, dated less than 1 year before departure, is mandatory.
You can pay in one installment, or in 3 payments. Your booking is confirmed only once the first payment has been received.
Yes, there are sharks in French Polynesia (especially in the Tuamotus), and that’s part of what makes the lagoons so special. In the vast majority of cases, encounters are calm and non-dangerous when we follow clear safety rules.
